Code Villain

Definitions

1. The person, module, or dependency blamed for causing repeated technical trouble in a story or incident narrative. In engineering slang, code villain may be metaphorically useful even when the real system dynamics are more complicated.

   In plain English: The apparent bad guy causing technical trouble.

   Example: "The queue worker became the code villain in every outage story until deeper analysis showed it was mostly exposing upstream data quality failures."
