Code Submarine
Noun · Slang & Abbreviations
Definitions
A person, branch, or body of work that disappears below visibility for a while and then suddenly surfaces with a lot of change. In engineering slang, code submarines can be useful or alarming depending on whether coordination existed.
In plain English: Hidden technical work that stays out of sight and then suddenly resurfaces.
Example: "The team lead went code submarine for a week and resurfaced with a huge refactor that was clever, but impossible to review safely in one pass."
