Chase the Bug

Definitions

1. To follow a bug through logs, environments, and code paths over time until the real cause is found. In engineering slang, chasing the bug usually implies a moving target with misleading symptoms and too many possible suspects.

   In plain English: To keep tracking down a bug until the cause is found.

   Example: "They chased the bug across three services before realizing the trigger was a timezone conversion buried in a shared serialization helper."
