Definitions

1. The process by which proposed system changes are reviewed, approved, scheduled, communicated, and tracked to reduce operational risk. In engineering organizations, change management ranges from lightweight peer review to formal CAB-style procedures depending on system criticality.

   In plain English: The process of planning, approving, and tracking changes to systems.

   Example: "The outage led the team to tighten change management so schema migrations, config changes, and traffic shifts were all reviewed together instead of separately."
