Definitions

1. A capitalization table — a spreadsheet or tool tracking who owns what percentage of a company, including founders, investors, employees (options/RSUs), and convertible instruments (SAFEs, notes). Updated after every funding round, option grant, and exercise. Critical for understanding dilution and payout scenarios.

   In plain English: A record of who owns what percentage of a company, updated every time shares are issued or investments are made.

   Example: "Before the Series A, the founders owned 80%. After the round and the option pool expansion, they're down to 55%. Check the cap table."
