Definitions

1. A system used to record, triage, assign, and track software defects and related engineering work. Bug trackers provide visibility into status, ownership, severity, and history so teams can coordinate fixes instead of losing issues in chat or memory.

   In plain English: A tool for recording and managing software bugs.

   Example: "The team moved the report out of email and into the bug tracker so repro steps, logs, and fix ownership stayed in one place."
