1. A mocking label for an engineer perceived as spending more effort on polished public explanations, thought leadership, or technical branding than on hard production work. The term is usually unfairly reductive, but it appears in status arguments inside tech culture.

   In plain English: A dismissive term for an engineer seen as better at public writing than practical work.

   Example: "The criticism was less about the design doc and more about resentment toward anyone seen as a blog post engineer."
