Attribute-Based Encryption

Definitions

1. A form of encryption in which decryption depends on satisfying a policy expressed over attributes rather than simply possessing one conventional key. It enables cryptographic enforcement of fine-grained access conditions.

   In plain English: Encryption that allows decryption only if certain attributes or conditions are met.

   Example: "The research prototype used attribute-based encryption so only users with matching clearance attributes could decrypt the files."
