Architecture Decision
Noun · Development
Definitions
A deliberate technical choice about structure, technologies, boundaries, or tradeoffs that has lasting impact on a system's design and evolution. Architecture decisions are important because they constrain future implementation choices and often outlive the immediate feature that prompted them.
In plain English: An important technical design choice that affects how a system is built long term.
Example: "Choosing event-driven synchronization over cross-service database reads was an architecture decision that shaped every integration built afterward."
