Accrued Revenue

Noun · Startup & VC

Definitions

  1. Revenue that has been earned through delivered goods or services but has not yet been billed or collected in cash. It appears in accrual accounting so financial statements better reflect when value was actually created.

In plain English: Money a company has earned already even though it has not been paid yet.

Example: "The finance team booked accrued revenue for the work completed before the invoice date."
